Power Pairs
Sign up to be matched with a chavrusa on the topic of your choice and commit to reading a short lesson from Positive Word Power together before you start your learning session.
Words are powerful. In contrast to the nursery rhyme which claims that "sticks and stones may break my bones but words can never hurt me" is the Yiddish saying, "ah potch fahrgeit, ah vort bashteit." Physical pain goes away but a harsh word can stay with a person forever. Similarly, a positive word can uplift one's spirits, provide hope or encouragement, help form one's self-image and so much more . Hashem gave us the power of speech as a creative tool we can use to emulate Him. In order to properly utilize this gift, it isn't enough just to steer clear of onaas devarim but to understand the koach our words have to create positive results as well by recognizing not only their potential to destroy but also their potential to build. With this chavursa program we aim to heighten our awareness of the way we use our speech in order to use it for good.
Partner with us in building up ourselves and those around us through positive speech and learning.
